| Q: How do I get
a CD review?
A: You can find the address to our
office in the mast head of the magazine, right below
the table of contents, as well as on this site. We are
always accepting submissions. We place every CD and
Mix Tape before our review board, which is comprised
of representatives in each of our markets. Albums will
only receive coverage if they are relevant and currently
released around the street date of the magazine. We
will not cover albums that were released more than a
couple of months before we print unless it is exceptionally
noteworthy. Editorial coverage is FREE and unbiased,
therefore it is not guaranteed to anyone. Editorial
coverage and Advertising Dollars have nothing to do
with the one another and advertising dollars do not
guarantee you editorial coverage. If you are making
enough noise, we will take notice. Plain and simple.
Hard work and persistence are rewarded and that’s
real. We are trying to cover a lot, so please have patience.
Keep making music and sending it in.
Q: How do I get on the Compilation CD?
A: Our compilation CD is a part of
an advertising package for labels and artists. You must
purchase a full page or a half page advertisement in
Concrete Magazine to receive an audio track on the CD.
You must then sign an audio track release, which allows
us one time usage of the song on our compilation. All
of the songs must have original production or we can
not accept them. So bring your “A game”
and no jacked beats.
Q: How do you pick your Flavor of the Month?
A: We are always looking for beautiful
ladies. If you have photos or an online portfolio, please
e-mail us a message or link where we can find them.
If you would prefer sending actual prints, you can mail
them to the address listed on this site or in the mast
head of the magazine, below the table of contents. If
you are a modeling agency and you would like to have
your name and web site appear on the page next to your
model, you can sponsor that advertorial. Prices
are listed here.
Q: When does the magazine come out?
A: Concrete Magazine’s street
dates are bi-monthly on the 15th day. Our deadlines
and street dates are listed
in our on-line media kit.
Q: How do I get on the cover of the magazine?
A: The cover is considered a piece
of editorial and it is also FREE. It is rewarded to
deserving artists. It helps the pickup of the magazine
and everyone in it when the cover artist is largely
recognizable or has an exceptional story. DJ No Name
and MC New Kid ain’t cuttin’ it. So don’t
call us for the cover, we’ll call you when it
is time.
Q: How do I get an Interview?
A: Simple. Work hard and make your
presence felt in the market place. Interviews are FREE
editorial coverage and cannot be bought or influenced
by advertising dollars. We keep our ears to the street
and we to listen to what the streets say. We don’t
claim to be the end all be all of hip hop, but we recognize
artists that are on the grind. We all know who the cats
are that spark conversations in the barber shops and
on the corner.
Q: Where can I get Concrete Magazine?
A: Concrete Magazine is focused on
the music movement in the Southeast and we can be found
just there. We are distributed all across the great
state of Tennessee, as well as in Atlanta, GA, Huntsville,
AL, Bowling Green, KY, and Charleston, SC. Most of our
distribution list can
be found in our on-line media
kit . But be on the lookout for us in other Southern
cities as we increase our distribution in the coming
months.
Q: How Do I get an Ad in Concrete Magazine?
A: To advertise in Concrete Magazine,
simply download the online contract (LOCATED ON PAGE...)
and a track release form. Check the advertising
prices in our on-line media kit. Then mail us a
money order to the address listed on the web site and
in the mast head of the magazine. Remember to send the
completed contract and the audio track release together
with the song on a CD, that you want featured on the
compilation. Be conscious of deadlines and contract
terms. |
